But Essen is not just about energy. Essen-based companies of various sizes, including fast-growing scale-ups such as Greenlyte Carbon Technologies, and research institutions develop innovative solutions for environmental economic challenges. This takes place in an active ecosystem in a livable city that is aiming for climate neutrality between 2030 and 2040. The city of Essen provides up to 100,000 € in funding for projects that contribute to climate protection or adaptation to climate change, which can help to attract pilot customers.
