From October 4th - 6th, 2010 EWG - Essen Economic Development Agency, together with several companies, will promote the location Essen at the real estate trade fair EXPO REAL in Munich at the the joint stand of the metropoleruhr. This year´s motto is "we build on efficient energy". Essen is in the favourable situation to be able to present several highlights:

• The new headquarter of E.ON Ruhrgas AG in the GRUGACARREE with its impressive architecture sets the patterns for energy efficiency and climate protection due to structural-physical and application-technological innovations.
• The ThyssenKrupp Quartier drafted by the French architects Chaix & Morel et Associés, Paris and JSWD Architekten und Planer, Cologne, uses geothermic energy with the help of energy sensors.
• The "Rüttenscheider Tor" by HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH in the GRUGACARREE comes upon with a preliminary certification of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB).
• The former building of the Bundesbahndirektion at Bismarckplatz has been extensively renovated for the Deutsche Bank, whose service centre is operating there. A LEED-certification in silver is aimed at.
• The "Universitätsviertel - grüne mitte Essen" is new green area in the town centre. Apart from office- and residential buldings water and green arens are the main elements of the new city quarter of approximately 13 hectares.
